About the 150th Anniversary Celebrations

Our story is older than Confederation — the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) turns 150 in 2012.

Join us as we mark OVC's birthday and salute 150 years of veterinary medicine in Canada. Community events, museum exhibits, conferences, special publications — we're planning something for everyone.

A History of Service

OVC was founded in 1862 to train the people needed to care for the horses that helped keep the economy moving in the colony of Upper Canada.

Today, OVC is a world leader in veterinary health care, learning, and research. You'll find OVC graduates across Canada and around the world, improving the health of animals, ensuring the safety of the food we eat and protecting the environment that we all share.

For the good of all species, including our own.
