Come, Sit, Learn: Celebrating the Human and Animal Bond
The third symposium was held on May 27th and May 28th. The symposium, Come, Sit Learn: Celebrating the Human and Animal Bond brought together veterinarians, scholars and animal lovers to discuss the special bond shared between humans and their animals.
The symposium featured talks in the morning by OVC faculty members, followed by keynote speaker Dr. Marty Becker and interactive sessions in the afternoon.
Dr. Marty Becker - America's Veterinarian - who appears on ABC's Good Morning America and the Dr. Oz Show was featured. As keynote speaker, Dr. Becker addressed the topic - Pets make us feel good . . . and are good for us! He covered how modern medicine is discovering the amazing power of animals to detect, treat and help cure a host of diseases and conditions.
